Access & Parking
Parking & Walkability
What Cheer is located in the heart of downtown Providence. We are one block from the Arcade, across the street from Ocean State Sandwich. Many coffee shops, restaurants and take-out places are within a block or two including pizza and falafel.
Walk or bike from much of the city, including College Hill and the West Side.
RIPTA Buses from all parts of the state stop at Kennedy Plaza two blocks away.
Lyft and Uber are available from our location in under 5 minutes. (Pin the corner of Orange & Westminster.)
On-street parking is $1.25/hr (free on Sundays). Meters take change, credit cards or use the Passport Parking app available free via Apple's App Store. You must move spaces, either to another block or across the street once you've used a space for two hours or risk a ticket.
Lot parking ranges from $12-20 per day. Providence Place Mall's lot is a bargain at $2 for the first 5 hours - it's a seven-minute walk from What Cheer. BLISS Garage near the corner of Packet and South Water St is $12 for an entire day and a five-minute walk from What Cheer. The lot behind our building on the corner of Orange and Weybosset is $18/day cash-only.
What Cheer is a wheelchair accessible including:
wheelchair accessible bathrooms
wheelchair-friendly areas to cowork or meet in the facility
We are a largely child-free facility. Please do not bring children under 10 without checking first. Many of our coworking members are using the space to be in an atmosphere of peace and quiet away from the distractions of family life. Thank you.
Sorry, our landlord does not allow any pets in the building.
If you have other questions regarding access, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you.
