Community Events, Craft Workshops & Professional Practicums on the Business-End of Content Creation

Whenever possible, programs are free to Members and B/I/POC Creatives, and open to the general public on a pay-what-you-can basis. We charge admission to craft workshops in order to pay our Teaching Artists.

LitArts RI’s annual workshop series invites writers to take a deep dive into literary craft with a local teaching artist. The theme for Fall 2023-Spring 2024 workshops is Cultivating Care through Restorative Narratives.

Workshops are open to all levels of writers across various genres and mediums. You must be 18+ to attend. Check out upcoming workshops here.

LitArts RI's popular podcast training is an introduction to podcasting for anyone looking to launch a show. The class will provide a look at the steps to creating a podcast, from ideation and planning to creation and publishing. Participants will get hands on experience with audio equipment in the Podcast Studio.  Podcasting 101 is free, thanks to funding provided in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and private funders.
