Sign Up for a Statewide Letter Exchange

Dear Rhode Island is a community-led project to build connection across Rhode Island using the power of letters, co-created by Club Member Jessica David and What Cheer Writers  Club Staff. At a time when many of us are physically distanced, it’s still possible to reach out and engage.

Here’s how it works:

  • You sign up.

  • We match you with a neighbor.

  • You write a letter.

  • You receive a letter.

  • Continue exchanging letters with your penpal, and/or sign up for another round to be matched with someone new!

You’re invited to read the full details and sign up to participate in a state-wide exchange of letters at

Dear Rhode Island is made possible through major funding support from the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities, an independent state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Council seeds, supports, and strengthens public history, cultural heritage, civic education, and community engagement by and for all Rhode Islanders.
