April 2020

Member Meet Up: Nonfiction Showcase,* monthly networking with RI creatives, will be held on Thurs, April 2 from 5-7pm. This meet up will feature readings from creative non-fiction writers' works in progress. The meet up will take place virtually over Zoom.

Virtual Coffee Chats happen every Friday at 11:00am on the Club's Slack channel.

Podcasting 101,* an intro to podcasting and orientation to the What Cheer Writers Club Podcasting Studio, will be held on Thurs, April 16 from 6-8pm. Sign Up Here. This event may be postponed. Please check back for updates.

A special bilingual edition of What Cheer Writers Club's Podcasting 101 will be available to members of the RI Latinx community at the RILA headquarters at La Galería in Central Falls at 5:45pm on April 23. Advanced registration required. This event has been postponed.

A virtual Environmental Writers Round Table, with special guest Lucy Spelman of local nonprofit Creature Conserve, will be held on Zoom from 1-3pm on Sat, April 25.

Child Selves, Writers Selves, a Frequency Writers seminar taught online by Club Staff Susannah Morse, will be held on April 5.

The Providence Writers Meet Up Group will hold a write-in on April 5 online over Zoom. Contact the group on Meet Up for more info.

 

A Political Prisoner Letter Writing group will meet at What Cheer Writers Club from 6-8pm on April 8. This event has been cancelled.
 

SciEnWri, an Environmental and Science Writers Workshop, will be held on April 17 from 6-8pm. This event may be postponed. Please check back for updates.

A Sci Fi/Fantasy Writers Group will meet at 12:30pm every Sunday online via Zoom. Follow this link to join.

 

The Comics Consortium's Sketchbook Church will be held every Sunday in April from 11am-12pm online on instagram live.

The Providence Writers Meet Up Group will hold an online writing workshop via Zoom on April 19. Contact the group on Meet Up for more info.
 

Jumpstart Your Writing, a GrubStreet seminar taught by Ethan Gilsdorf, will be held online on April 25.
