Once a month on a Friday at 5pm Club Members are invited to gather on our virtual platform on Slack for CHEERS: Club Cocktail Chats, conversations around topics ranging from podcasting to publishing to genre and craft. What Cheer Writers Club’s Advisory Committee invites Rhode Island creatives of color to a monthly B/I/POC Creatives Coffee Hour at the Club. Meet other writers, illustrators and podcasters, share projects and find community and support for your creative work. As this series is in person, please follow our health safety guidelines to attend. Check our Events calendar above for the next gathering.
The Club's popular podcast training is an introduction to podcasting for anyone looking to launch a show. The class will provide a look at the steps to creating a podcast, from ideation and planning to creation and publishing. Participants will get hands on experience with audio equipment in the Club’s Podcasting Studio. Podcasting 101 is free, thanks to funding provided in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and private funders. Dates TBD. (Alex Birch photo credit: Adrianne Mathiowetz)
